Breathe Through Skin

Breathe Through Skin is a visual poem written in ecological prose. This work immerses the viewer in an intimate non-human perspective. This work shifts the traditional focus from a human point of view to that of water and the creatures living within it. In doing so, Breathe Through Skin reshapes the representation and understanding of the aquatic environment.

Since the invention of photography, waterscapes have been photographed primarily from the surface. Underwater photography has been utilized predominantly for scientific purposes rather than artistic usage. Breathe Through Skin examines the environment at the age of Anthropocene, challenging our relationship to the natural forces of water.
